Four More Things: Day 4
1. I talk to my dogs like they are people. I know they understand me most of the time. Sometimes I don't even have to say anything for them to know what I want them to do.
2. Running/activities for medals brings me great joy. Also it keeps me in shape, so there's that. Running/going to the gym is my me time and I get irritable if I don't get that time. Also, I don't mind listening to my running playlist, which definitely helps me power through those long runs.
3. I have had the same pillow since 2004/5. It's one of those memory foam pillows and it has earned the name "The 10 Pound Pillow" which is it's approximate weight. Teh Mom gave it to me when I lived in the dorms at NC State and it completed the nirvana that was my bed. At some point I had a nosebleed in my sleep and it stained the outer-cover and to this day, I have no recollection of when it happened. I always put my pillow case on so the zipper end is in the seam of the pillow case so it doesn't escape. I didn't cut the tag off until a few months ago.
4. When I find a song I like, I listen to it over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over. I try not to do this in the company of others because it drives other people crazy (a lesson I learned from the Ex-Fiance). Songs that have been repeated:
Boomerang - Walk off the Earth
Oceans - Hillsong United
Believe - Mumford and Sons
A Thousand Years - Christina Perri (hours and hours and hours of this one, which is probably the worst)
I Bet My Life - Imagine Dragons
Stay - Florida Georgia Line
I Don't Dance - Lee Brice
Breathe - Anberlin
Come to Me - Goo Goo Dolls
Hey Pretty Girl - Kip Moore
Red Hands - Walk off the Earth
Stronger - Sara Evans
Aqueous Transmission - Incubus
Transatlanticism - Death Cab for Cutie (Teh Bear once judged my play count on this song, then I reminded him that I'd accidentally left my laptop playing the song one night when I went out in GTMO)

-Hubby swears our dogs, especially Jameson, know what he saying. He also claims this dog is a smart-ass back somehow and he can tell when the dog is purposefully being a dick.
ReplyDelete-I went to the gym for the first time in forever this morning! And I may actually have do another run (just a 5K) in a few months. Maybe if I were good like you & got medals I would stick with it- you amaze me with your constancy!
-Some good songs. I really have to check out Walk Off the Earth, I have a (n IRL) friend who LOVES them and it seems like they are popping up everywhere.
My dogs totally understand me, duh!!! And I do the same things with songs! In fact, a few of yours - I Don't Dance, A Thousand Years and Stay are all ones I have repeated over and over again. Especially I Don't Dance.
ReplyDeleteI do the exact same thing with songs/albums I like. I will listen to them on repeat until a)I find something new or b)I make myself sick of it.
ReplyDeleteWhenever I see a song that I don't think I know on a list like here, I play it. I just played the first song for a full 2 days before I remembered that I didn't comment on this- sorry! So yes, I do that too :) What's on your running playlist? I love finding new music.
ReplyDeleteI talk to the pups ALL THE TIME. No worries on that one! I am also the same with music. I can't help it. I must play a song TO DEATH. Turns out Kyra seems to be the same way!
