Thank you for all the anniversary salutations (do people even use that word anymore?)! We went to Halls Chophouse for dinner and it was fantastic. I wasn't aware that it wasn't as classy as I had envisioned, but the food more than made up for it. Also, our bill was $234 with tip, which was a little less painful than our almost $300 bill at Charleston Grill, although both were so, soo, soooooo worth it.Dry aged ribeye |
Sides were: Brussel sprouts with bacon or something piggy with a sauce Teh German liked. Sweet potato cassarole w/ apples and walnuts |
Dessert was a milkshake, which ended up being on the house since we were were celebrating. #notcomplaining |
Teh German said he wasn't going to help because he was too full. Double strawing it was. #notsorry |
Overall, I was pleased with my life choice. I'd definitely do it again if we had guests in town who wanted to drop some dollas on delicious foods. I would NOT do it again for any type of celebration meal. If I go out to a "$$$$" restaurant to celebrate, I want $$$$ atmosphere.

From the phone this week:A VERY sweaty anniversary AM run. |
New shoes for Teh Ville this past week. Hopefully this will eliminate those knee pains from my 10 miler. |
Surprise anniversary flowers from #bestboyfriendever |
Get a roll, Tootsie Roll.. No? Just me? ok then |
77777 miles. Oh Yurtle, please be good to me forever, I love you so! Also, a balmy 82 degrees at 0645. #SouthernSummersSuck |
You can't really see it, but in this car is a lady reading her book. Please note, she is sitting in the parking lot at Barnes and Noble. #BookwormLife |
Thanks Instagram for trying to be like Snapchat... /facepalm |
Snuggles with my Meri-Meri |
I also had a photo printed for our frame in the bathroom, one of my fave StoryPeople stories. |
Most importantly:
This was my anniversary gift from Teh German. I actually collect these glass balls (which he knows) and it almost made me cry because this gift was so perfect. More and more recently Teh Ville has become a real family. No, we might not be married, but we're definitely a family, our kids being the dogs, of course. The fact that Teh German considers Meri, Phil, and I his family is an even bigger thing for me.
After getting out of Shitty House and into House, Teh German told me he was feeling more and more like the US was home. To have a family and a home? Be still my heart. Whew, it's dusty in here.

ALL THE DISNEY PLANNING!Parks and rides and food, oh my. Add to that fireworks, character stops, and general magic enjoyment and it will be a swell time. I have been reading through all the Disneyland suggestions I can find and so far I've gotten 2 things:
1. Ride Peter Pan first thing in the morning and while there grab Fastpasses for whatever ride it is.
2. The parade and fireworks in Disneyland are not to be missed.
I haven't started narrowing down where we will eat yet, but I'm sure in between
We will be resting on Saturday, as in, not going to the parks, and after doing some research, I'm thinking we will drive out to Hollywood and Malibu and pretend to be B-list celebrities. Ok, maybe C-list. Whatevs. We will have the rental car and the time and this is a golden opportunity I'd hate to waste. I've only ever a shopping center, the cruise boat pier, and the airport in LA.. and it was with a grouchy pants, so it will be nice to be with people who can actually enjoy the adventure instead of biting my head off at every turn for breathing.
From what I hear, driving down Hwy 1 is a life changing experience, so I think I need to put a check beside that box on my life accomplishments list. It's probably right there with drive on the Autobahn, which was checked in June. I'm sure we'll hit some LA traffic snags, but honestly, I think the adventure will be worth it. Finally, YOLO.
PS. I'm still open for suggestions regarding Disneyland guidance.

I don't bring up politics
I'm not sure if I shared this with you when I discovered it, but you need to read this thing here about body confidence. Don't let anyone tell you that you aren't beautiful just the way you are... Any by ANYONE I mean anyone including yourself. Talk to yourself the way you'd talk to your child. Also, run out of fucks to give because #youdoyou, it's nobody else's business.
Hercules is probably my favorite Disney movie and this list of facts even educated me!

This makes me so happy for you!!! I told you the right guy is just-well magical! It's hard to explain to others but it was/is the same for me. Absolutely no comparison to any other male even comes close! Sigh, I love the sappy!!!
ReplyDeleteDid I mention I had a blast there? Even if you were busy with house and other people and family and I had some family issues myself. I would love to come back for more quality time. LOL You are special and I enjoy your company. That may be sappy too...
Did you see The Smithsonian botanical garden ( Google it ) had a corpse flower bloom? I am beyond thankful for video! I really enjoyed that day many moons ago; taking pics and looking at spectacular flowers in that building and garden.
Last sentiment is atmosphere of expensive restaurants; I totally get that. We went to Ruth Chris in Jax for an anniversary. The tables are practically on top of each other, which I found a little odd for the prices charged. All the sides there were a La carte or additional charges on the side. We struggle to spend $100 for the two of us when no alcoholic beverages are consumed. Drinking in public sucks all the funds! Ha!
